Overview
Join Ching-He Huang at Leiths for her brand new Winter Comforts class, in which students will learn to cook a variety of delicious recipes, including Chinese soups, braised pork and fried rice, achieving the distinctive flavours and textures of some classic Chinese dishes. Whilst cooking, you will learn skills like wok-frying, braising, and filleting fish and squid, and use key ingredients like rice wine, oyster sauce, water chestnuts and enoki mushrooms. You’ll come away feeling confident in some new skills and with a set of delicious dishes to share this winter.
Ching is an ambassador and one of the most influential voices in Chinese cooking around the globe. She has become the face of Chinese cookery internationally through her TV shows, books, tableware range and involvement in many high-profile campaigns and causes. She has a monthly slot on ITV’s Lorraine, has featured regularly on BBC One’s Saturday Kitchen and presented BBC Two’s Exploring China alongside Ken Hom. Due to the amount of travel required by her work, this is currently Ching’s only class in the UK and is therefore an exclusive opportunity to cook with and be taught by the celebrated chef.

Course Structure
Cooking with your classmates is an integral part of your Leiths experience. You will cook some of your recipes in pairs, and some independently. Regardless, there is always more than enough food to go around, and often food to take home too.
Your evening will consist of practical cookery in the Leiths kitchens. The exact format will vary from class to class depending on the style of cuisine and, in the case of visiting chefs, their individual teaching style.
At the end of the session, you will sit down and enjoy the dishes you have cooked with the rest of your class, accompanied by a glass of wine or other refreshments.
