With a plan to bring more practical cookery lessons to the national curriculum, Leiths Education is thrilled to have teamed up with The University of Roehampton to offer a new Masters-level Advanced Certificate of Professional Development in Food Education.

Our ten-day intensive course is aimed at teachers currently working in food education, educators seeking to specialise in food and nutrition and classroom support staff looking to upskill in cookery teaching.
Leiths is expert in practical cookery teaching. For this reason we have included hands-on training including practical cookery teaching experience with dedicated time at Leiths’ school in London. You will also have the chance to develop expertise in curriculum design, classroom management in food rooms and assessment strategies.
With Leiths’ fifty-year heritage in food education, we cover the skills central to delivering successful cookery teaching. We will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to plan and deliver effective food and nutrition lessons for students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.
It’s important you can fit your studies with us around your day-to-day schedule. Therefore, we have purposely created two different schedule types to complete the course. Students can either come to monthly sessions or attend an intensive two-week programme depending on what suits you best.
To top it all off, we include a 30-recipe digital course made by our expert chefs at Leiths Education aimed at deepening your expertise. Such an important part of the Leiths experience is teaching food with flair. We look forward to doing just that if you’ve got a taste for cookery teaching.
If you’d like to speak with a course leader, Maria Dunbar, Director of Education at Leiths, is available for a call. Contact her at [email protected]
