As the school year comes to a close, Leiths HQ has been abuzz with Partner School activity. Our students studying to work in food education had their final exams as part of our Level 7 Qualification in June. We’ve had teachers visiting from our Partner Schools for a training day. And we were thrilled to welcome food technology students from two of our partner schools – LVS Ascot and Westonbirt School.e’s connection to Leiths spans decades. She’s a Diploma graduate herself, the parent of a graduate, and now teaches the Leiths Confident Cookery 30 Week course (LCC30) at one of our Partner Schools – King’s College, Taunton.

The group enjoyed a fresh pasta masterclass from Culinary Diploma tutors Grace and Ryan and took a look around Leiths HQ. These students have just completed their summer exams and may well be considering a pathway into a culinary career. This hands-on experience was a chance for the students to hear more about the professional opportunities in the food industry while making (and eating) some fresh pasta.
As part of our Partnership School programme, Leiths has designed a food education pathway starting at KS1 with simple practical cookery lessons such as making butter in a jar right through to GCSE and A Level equivalent qualifications with more complex culinary techniques.

These students could choose to continue their culinary education by enrolling on our Diploma much like 2023 graduate and Leiths ‘Student of the Year’ Grace Truelove who was offered a role as pastry chef at Michelin Star restaurant Elystan Street after finishing the Diploma.
There are all kinds of careers that can spring from a Leiths education. But in the meantime, as the intensity of exam season comes to a close, our Partner School students and teachers all deserve a rest. We wish them all a relaxing summer break.
