Sourdough Hub in Newmarket is seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join a small, dynamic kitchen. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality viennoisserie, pastries, desserts and baked goods. You will have a creative flair and willing to work with seasonal ingredients, maintain impeccable standards of cleanliness and ensure consistency in taste and presentation.

Responsibilities ● Prepare and produce a wide variety of baked goods, pastries and desserts. ● Ensure all pastry items are made on time and to the highest quality, in line with service demands. ● Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the pastry section, including equipment and storage areas. ● Uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene in compliance with health regulations. ● Monitor ingredient inventory for the pastry section and communicate needs for ordering or restocking. ● Train and mentor apprentices as needed. ● Creative freedom to develop seasonal artisan baked goods,

Skills ● Strong proficiency in pastry and viennoiserie techniques, including baking, chocolate work and sugar art. ● Solid knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP principles. ● Experience working in a high-end or high-volume pastry kitchen is highly desirable. ● Excellent attention to detail and artistic presentation skills. ● Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. ● Organised, reliable and committed to maintaining high standards. ● A genuine passion for pastry arts and a commitment to ongoing innovation. ● Contribute to taking this small business to it’s full growth potential.

What We’re Looking For ● Proven experience in patisserie ● A love for the classics and the confidence to elevate them ● A sharp eye for detail and a steady hand under pressure ● A desire to grow, experiment, and contribute to a growing business

Part-time position 1-2 days per week with the possibility to increase to 3-4 days per week
