About This Course

Designed for graduates who want to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) as a specialist food and nutrition teacher. QTS is a requirement for teachers in all State schools and is good practice in Multi Academy Trust (MAT) and the Independent sector.

In addition to hands on immersive teaching and learning practice at placements schools, and specialist teaching and learning tuition provided by the University of Roehampton, students will also attend ten food teaching subject specialist skills days delivered jointly by UoR and Leiths Education at a school location located near their placement school.

This qualification also requires students to engage in an Online 30 recipe cookery course their own time. Designed and delivered by Leiths Education specialist teachers, this unique digital course will enable students to master the practical skills required to deliver food courses and qualifications with confidence, whilst cooking and enjoying a range of delicious recipes.
