At Leiths Culinary School, we understand that your culinary journey begins long before you step into the kitchen. Here, we’ve brought together some information about student accommodation in London to help you find where to stay during your studies.
Start looking as early as possible if you prefer to live in private student accommodation. This can be as soon as January, when providers begin releasing rooms on their official websites.
If you are planning to rent with a landlord or lettings agent, you should look four to six weeks before your intended move-in date. While you can research areas earlier, most properties are listed only one to two months in advance, and landlords prefer tenants ready.

Notting Hill is home to Portobello Market and countless cafes, bars and restaurants. Art galleries, boutiques and a good music scene.
It’s well-connected via the tube, so getting into central London or other areas is easy.
Acton has seven railway stations and easy access to the M4 corridor and beyond. Acton Town station offers easy access to Heathrow and King’s Cross via the Piccadilly Line, or into central and east London via the District line. Acton is a leafy residential area west of Shepherds Bush and White City, ten minutes from Notting Hill. There is also a ‘student village’ in North Acton.
Shepherd’s Bush is surrounded by close links into central London, you also have easy access to the more homely areas like Chiswick and Fulham.
There is a wide variety of restaurants, coffee shops and traditional pubs.
Hammersmith is relatively central but more affordable than inner-city rent prices with easy access to the rest of London and a good food scene.
Situated between Hammersmith and Chiswick, Stamford Brook is a leafy residential area close to lots of green space and other amenities. There are also several gyms and fitness centres in the area and some of West London’s top sports clubs.
Stamford Brook has its own tube station on the District line as well as good bus connections to get you all over London.

There is no charge for parking after 5pm or on the weekend. We are not in the congestion zone, but we are inside the ULEZ & LEZ charge zone
