All Saints Educational Trust (ASET) offers its grant to both training and practicing food teachers and technicians. Allowing individuals at different stages before or during their food teaching career to get financial relief during their professional training.
Grants made available by ASET provide funding to support aspiring and existing food teachers in their training and development. Designed to help reduce the cost of teacher training and professional development for those working in food education.
Grants like this help encourage professional development with practicing teachers and technicians. The grant reduces financial barriers, enabling individuals who would have previously been financially excluded from undertaking professional development. [HI1]
Several groups of individuals are considered and accepted for the ASET grant, from aspiring food technicians and teachers advancing onto a PGCE in Food & Nutrition for qualified teacher status, to those with existing teaching qualifications who are exploring upskilling or adjusting their specialism.
Teachers who have already gained QTS in other subjects may also be supported by the fund, making the transition from teaching one subject to another much smoother and with less of a financial strain.

The grants are now open to those with existing teaching qualifications or culinary experience, allowing individuals who are looking to expand their understanding and skill set to undertake professional development.
Our Level 7 Advanced Certificate is the equivalent of a master’s-level degree, allowing those with prior culinary training to qualify. Allowing them to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), which offers more opportunities to take on specialised teaching roles in food technology.
The course is delivered over 10 days, with mornings dedicated to theoretical study, while afternoons provide hands-on training that reinforces the skills, techniques, and approaches covered in the mornings. The course’s length allows aspiring individuals to expedite the process to QTS, advantageous for those wanting to accelerate the journey to becoming a food teacher.
On the course, students will learn how to design curriculum, develop their understanding of food science and assess their ability around practical and theoretical skills in a kitchen.
Students on this course are an ideal fit for the grant, as it is designed to deliver individuals into a culinary career in teaching with food. On the course, individuals benefit from specialist training from teachers with existing industry expertise and access to placement. Allowing them to gain access to hands-on experiences, instilling a level of preparedness for students after their studies are completed.

There are two opportunities for students to apply for funding. A new round has now opened and will close on 1 September 2026. Individuals applying for funding are strongly encouraged to start their application sooner and submit ahead of the deadline.
