Join award-winning food writer Ching-He Huang on this unique Chinese cooking class at Leiths, and usher in the Year of The Rabbit with wealth and prosperity through food.

Food has always played a meaningful role in the tradition of the Lunar New Year. At its heart, it is a celebration around the dinner table, where families gather and dishes are prepared and exchanged to symbolize different well wishes for the coming year.

Put together by Ching herself with recipes from her cookery book ‘Stir-Crazy’, this class celebrates this link between cultural tradition and food, leaving you with a host of delicious recipes to take home as well as an appreciation for the exciting complexities of Chinese cooking. The menu is made up of entertaining dishes that compliment and bring to life these symbolic ingredients, including tofu for ‘wealth’, oyster sauce for ‘power’, prawns for ‘laughter’ and fish for ‘abundance and prosperity’- a menu sure to bring some good tidings to your Chinese New Year celebrations.

Born in Taiwan to Chinese parents, food writer and television personality Ching-He Huang has become the go-to chef for delicious and accessible Chinese cooking. Her mission has been to create modern recipes with Chinese heritage for all skill levels.
