Cover the fundamentals of breadmaking and discover the reward of making your own bread from scratch in this hands-on class designed specifically for teenagers. Students will make four different types of bread, each one using different techniques, including savoury scones, folded flatbread, loaves and iced buns. This class will give a well-rounded introduction to the art of breadmaking and ensure lots of fun along the way.

The teachers will also demonstrate bread shaping, showing the students how to make a variety of shapes including a plaited loaf. The skills learnt in this class cover a good base level of baking, enabling the students to take these further and confidently bake their own bread at home.

Students will enjoy the folded flatbread as their lunch, with a variety of different fillings to choose from, and will take home a bread box with a mix of savoury and sweet breads to share.

This class is suitable for young people aged 11-16 years old.

What is included:

  • Refreshments on arrival

  • All ingredients provided and weighed out for you in advance
  • Lunch of your own making or sharing platters prepared by the school
  • We do the washing up!

What you need to bring:

  • Flat soled shoes
  • Long trousers and a long sleeved top are advisable
