Careers in Journalism and Content Creation

Food Writer

A food writer explores and writes about food-related topics, including restaurant reviews, recipes, culinary history, and industry trends. They contribute to magazines, blogs, and books, often specializing in areas like fine dining, street food, or cultural traditions.

Food Copywriter

A Food Copywriter develops compelling content for food brands, restaurants, and media, such as product descriptions, recipes, and blog articles. This role requires creativity, excellent writing skills, and a love for food to effectively connect with the target audience.

Editor of a Food Publication / Website Blog

A Food Editor is responsible for overseeing the creation and delivery of food-related content for a publication or website. This includes recipe development, food styling, creating food-related articles, and managing a team.

Kitchen Assistant/Manager on Food Publication

Responsible for creating top quality content for the brand as well as managing the test kitchen and co-ordinating recipe testing schedule.

Food Publisher

Often working independently in a cooler part of the kitchen, the pastry chef is an experienced member of the team, responsible training more junior members of the team, testing and developing recipes and keeping up with office adminisitration.
