Alumni Stories: Kendra Marsh on Leiths Nutrition in Culinary Practice

Former fashion-buyer and triathlete Kendra Marsh tells us how she changed her career to freelance chef and meal planner with the help of Leiths’ Nutrition In Culinary Practice course.
Former fashion-buyer and triathlete Kendra Marsh tells us how she changed her career to freelance chef and meal planner with the help of Leiths’ Nutrition In Culinary Practice course.

“I had been a Senior Fashion buyer for many years, sourcing clothing and travelling around the World for a large fashion brand. I had always been interested in food and nutrition at an amateur level and had attended other Leiths courses…Although I had an ONC chef certificate I was keen to understand more about the nutritional elements of the meals I was preparing and how I could help people obtain the nutrients they needed everyday.

I was also training hard for triathlons and wanted to make sure I was getting the values from the food I was eating!

The NICP was exactly what I needed, it gave me the practical insight into nutrition at a professional level and the flexibility to bring my own needs to the recipes. It has allowed me to use this thinking in my new career as a freelance chef and meal planner. The quality of the tutors at Leiths was inspirational and dynamic, the other students were really great and made the learning more enjoyable.”
